Sharon Charlene Trusty passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Sharon was born in Lubbock, Texas on July 24, 1952. She attended Texas Tech University achieving her Doctorate Degree in Special Education, specializing in Visual Impairment. She touched many lives while working at Education Service Center Region 17 working with children that are visually impaired. After retiring from Region 17, she continued instructing students that would continue teaching the blind with their practicum education at Texas Tech and Wayland University. She also consulted for the Education Service Center in Wichita Falls.
Sharon loved spending time with family, friends and her small groups which included Bible Studies and quilting. She was an avid artist and loved the meticulous work of stamping and quilting. She never met anyone who was not going to be “a friend”. She was always thinking of others, made everyone feel welcome and was very easy to talk to.
She was preceded in death by her father J.L Bridgeman and mother Genelle Jones. She leaves behind her daughter, Jennifer Trusty, her siblings Jerry Bridgeman and his wife Christine, Debra Moore and her husband Michael, Larry Bridgeman and his wife Sue, and 10 nieces and nephews.

A graveside committal service for Sharon will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Park, 5740 19th St., Lubbock, Texas.
