Scott Duane Cowan was born on January 15, 1962 in Lubbock, Texas to Coleman Lasky (C.L.) and Glenda Janette (Williams) Cowan. He was the middle child of the family, having an older sister Sherry and a younger brother Brett. He attended Lubbock public schools, graduating from Monterey High School.
Early in his adult life, Scott farmed cotton around Lubbock County. His love of farm life began when he was a boy, when Scott worked with his grandfather during a few summers on the family farm. Scott also worked in various construction trades. At the time of his death, Scott was employed at Shearer’s Foods in Lubbock as a waste water technician. He had been employed with Shearer’s Foods since 2009.
Scott was a big fan of Texas Tech sports and the Dallas Cowboys. He was also an animal lover.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Sherry Sewell of Round Rock, Texas; brother Brett Cowan and sister-in-law Janice of Lubbock, Texas. Scott is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home, 5740-19th St., Lubbock, Texas.
