Ruby Teeter Amonett, 93, of New Deal passed away on March 2, 2014 in Lubbock, Texas. The family will receive friends for a visitation this evening at Resthaven Funeral Home from 6 until 8:00pm. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday March 5, 2014 at 10:00 am in Resthaven Funeral Home’s Abbey Chapel with Rev. Kyle Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Ruby was born on September 17, 1920 in Russellville, Arkansas to the late John Thomas and Victoria Alabama (Skinner) Smith. She married Clayton Teeter on December 23, 1950 together they moved to New Deal, Texas where they built a wonderful life. After the death of Clayton in 1985 she later married Glen Amonett on July 24, 1993 their life together lasted until he passed away on April 18, 1998.
Ruby loved her family and friends and never met a stranger. She had a great passion for music and enjoyed playing the piano and harmonica.
She was also preceded in death by her 3 brothers, 5 sisters, and stepson Carroll Teeter.
She is survived by her son, Randy and his wife Gayla of New Deal; 2 grandsons Clay and wife Wendy Teeter of Ropesville and Shane Teeter of Lubbock; 2 grand daughters Angela and husband Cole Mitchell of Abilene and Shanna and husband Scott Hall of Victoria; 8 great grandchildren Laney Joy Teeter, Ryan, Tanner, and Nicole Mitchell, Emalee, Chloe, Eli and Mary Hall; and a host of nieces and nephews.
