Roy Ellis Cooper

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Coy Elvis Cooper; brother, Virgil Cooper; sisters: Della McDaniel, Lorene Lee and Alta Smalling; and also his wife, Lois Spears Cooper who passed on February 2, 2020.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The Cooper twins came to West Texas and Lubbock in 1949. Roy and Coy served in the U. S. Navy together from 1952-1956. Roy retired from City of Lubbock Sanitation Dept. after 29 years of service.

Roy and Lois didn’t have children but they did open their home to several young people including a young lady, Ivo Malone who brought them so much joy in their “golden years”.

Many thanks to caregiver, Robin Cummings who made it possible for Roy and Lois to enjoy their golden years at home; also to Interim Healthcare staff.
