Rigo was born on February 15,1957 in Tarejero, Michoacan. He was born to the late Elias Espinoza and late Maria Elpidia Baltazar. He has 5 brothers Francisco G. Espinoza, Aladino G. Espinoza, Vidal B. Espinoza, Noel B. Espinoza, Elias B. Espinoza. He also has 4 sisters Maria Aduvina B. Espinoza, Maria Zoila B. Espinoza, Cecilia B. Espinoza, and Lebi B. Espinoza.
Rodrigo was a wonderful person and had a very big heart. If he was tough on you he was just giving you some tough love and give you the right advice. He was a very hard worker and looking forward to retirement. He has worked in so many different kind of jobs. He started out as a dishwasher, then a cook in a hospital cafeteria, remodeling houses, and in maintenance for student housing. His last job was at The Avenue at Lubbock where he met an amazing group of co-workers and good friends.
Rigo was a wonderful Father, a loving grandfather, and an amazing great grandfather. He has left behind his wife of 30 years, 1 stepdaughter,1 stepson, and his only daughter. He has 19 grandkids, and 13 great grandkids. He was preceded by his 2 stepdaughters Cynthia Portillo, and Sandra Portillo. His grandson Gabriel “BOBO” Portillo. Also his brother Noel B. Espinoza, and sister Maria Zoila B. Espinoza.
Rigo’s viewing and service will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 5740 19th Street Lubbock, Tx. The viewing will be on Friday December 17, 2021 from 5-7PM with the rosary starting at 6.
