Robert Christopher Keene

He was born in Bakersfield CA on May 25, 1948 to Jack and Elizabeth Keene. He graduated

from Bakersfield high school in 1966 with honors. He was the student store manager and

member of the varsity swim team. Later he attended Bakersfield college where he met his

beloved wife Janice and they were joined in matrimony on August 4, 1967. Shortly after they

married, Bob started a 29 year career as a retail manager for Kmart. Due to his profession, the

family lived in many different places like Oregon, Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri. In 1984 he found

home in Lubbock where he managed Western Autos. In 2001, He became an industrial

chemical salesman for the NCH Corp Until he retired in late 2021.

Bob loved his family dearly. He was an accomplished self-taught woodworker and enjoyed

playing bridge with his friends. He was a member of Westmont Christian Church where he

served as an elder, member of the choir, and Board Chairman.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Keene, son Gregory Keene, and

daughter Laura Barto. Those left to remember him are his wife Jan of 54 years, son Robert

Christopher Keene Jr and wife Kary, son Peter Keene and wife Kristi, and son in law Aaron

Barto. Additionally, his Sister Nancy Henshaw, Brother Tom and wife Cindy Keene, brother in

law Ross Lippert and wife Susan. As well as several nieces and nephews. He was known as

BBob to his grandchildren, Stanton, Jake, and Kenadie Keene. A memorial service is being

planned with the date to be determined.
