R.O. "Tex" Davis

Funeral services will at 10am on Friday, February 11, 2011, in Resthaven Funeral Home’s Abbey Chapel with Pastor Kyle Gulledge officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11am on Monday, February 14, 2011, in Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with Charles Williams officiating.

Tex was born on June 1, 1924, in Cooper, Texas, to the late David Isaac and Jessie (McGinnis) Davis. He married Patsye Smithwick on November 22, 1961, in Abilene, Texas. Throughout his life Tex worked as a truck driver and for the Lubbock Police Department and Sherriff’s Office. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Rene Cass; and two brothers.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Patsye of Lubbock; four children: Teresa Lillard and husband Gil of Waco, Texas, JD Davis and wife Debbie of Rogers, Arkansas, Larry Davis of Waco, Texas, and Brenda Hamilton and husband E.B. of Durango, Colorado; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers; and three sisters.
