Rebecca Watson

Rebecca was proceeded in death by her parents, Cosme Ricondo and Faustina Diaz, her sisters, Rosie Estrada and Rachel Pina, and late husband Fred Watson, Jr. She is lovingly remembered by her son Michael and daughter-in-law Kim Brown of Lubbock, TX, and son Richard R. and daughter-in-law Anita Brown of Austin, TX, grandson Richard and his wife Xin Brown of Lubbock, TX, granddaughter Brittany Flowers of Austin, TX, grandson Jacob Brown of Lubbock, TX, great-grandchildren Cannon and Sawyer Flowers of Austin, TX, her brothers Cosme Ricondo of San Antonio and Jose Mendez and sister-in-law Lucy of Austin, TX, and sister Gloria Morales of San Antonio, TX and her bonus family, the Watson’s and Baker’s who cherished her dearly as a mom and grandma.

Rebecca worked for Lubbock Independent School District for 35 years as a teacher’s assistant in the special education department and retired in 2010.

Rebecca’s spiritual gift of service benefited her church as well as many local churches and charities. She was selfless with her time and gave much of it to others. She was very proud of her church life group where she served as a teacher and leader for over 20 years. Much of her alone time was spent in prayer for others. Her faith in our Lord was never wavering and she spent nearly every day of her life praising and honoring Him through prayer, music, and bible study. Rebecca will be most remembered for her vibrant personality and larger-than-life laugh.

The family would like to thank all the healthcare workers in service to her in her last days as well as all the friends who called, wrote, and visited her.

Our loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and dear friend who was a caring, obedient faith-filled, vibrant woman who was full of life and a boisterous laugh has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be extremely missed by her family and many friends.

A visitation for Rebecca will be held Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 5740 West 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79407. A graveside will occur Monday, December 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Memorial Park, 5740 19th St., Lubbock, Texas. A memorial celebration of life will occur Monday, December 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Transformation Church of Lubbock, 5302 Elgin Ave, Lubbock, Tx 79413.
