Randall was born in Slide, Texas on June 18, 1945. He was married to the love of his life Carole Tharp on April 28, 1972. After graduating from Monterey High School, he worked as a Master Electrician and owned Capco Electric for 46 years.
Randall enjoyed cheering for the Texas Rangers, especially trips to see them in person with his daughter. Quite the avid fisherman, he enjoyed trips and tournaments with his boys as well as his friends. One of his greatest joys was watching his grandsons compete and excel in many football and baseball games. They were the absolute joy of his life.
Randall was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Werdna Cates; and his brother Jerry.
Survivors include his wife Carole; his daughter Cappi Phillips and her husband Eric; and his grandsons Slade and Brody; and his brother Larry Cates.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Monday January 17, 2022 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel.
