Polly Bowman, age 93, surrounded by her family, passed quietly to her Lord on January 27, in Lubbock. She completed her education in CA during WWII and returned to Texas to marry her beloved husband of 67 years, Ray Bowman. Polly had a long career as an entrepreneur and taught her girls that whatever they put their minds to can be accomplished. She was an accountant and a cotton buyer. Her passion was designing and building houses. She led a charmed and joyful life, loving her family, friends and church. She was an avid bridge player and belonged to many such clubs. She wished to be remembered with the following words:
“I have come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me. I want no rites
in a gloom filled room. Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long, and not with your head bowed low. Just remember the love that we shared. Miss me, but let me go.”
She is survived by her loving husband, Ray, her beloved daughter Gay Croslin and granddaughter Kinsey Croslin and her husband Andy Martinez; as well as nieces Rebecca Leonard-Bruenig, Maryann Marx, and nephew Curt Leonard.
