Peggy Brown Merimon was taken from us on August 9, 2006. She had an eternal beauty and serenity of soul. She wore her heart openly for all to see and had a constant smile on her lips. Peggy always made time to offer an ear or an encouraging word. She was the one to turn to whenever you needed someone to listen. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Lou Thompson, Cassels Kirk Wilson and Marilyn Dry; brothers: Miles Leverett, J.C. Leverett, Richard Leverett, and a granddaughter Jocelyn Kathleen Appleton. She is survived by her husband, Gearl Merimon, sister Dorothy Strange, and children: Vaughn Appleton, Sean Appleton, Sven Appleton, Ian Appleton, Natosha Davis, Sammie Brown, Lisa Kelly, and Jeffery Merimon. She also is survived by 28 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Church services for Peggy are scheduled at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 3rd at Trinity Church 7002 Canton Ave., Lubbock, Texas 79413, with Sven “Dooley” Appleton officiating. Graveside services will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
