Funeral services for Peggy Nell “Nana” Lilley, age 67, will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. in the Resthaven Abbey Chapel. Rev. Jim Gerlt will be officiating. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Tuesday from 6 pm to 8 pm at Resthaven.
She passed away at UMC, Saturday, April 24, 2010.
Peggy was born November 17, 1942, in Lubbock, Texas to Stephen Ray and Martha Juanita (Adams) Williams.
She graduated from Lubbock High School in 1961. She completed her nursing certificate from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. Peggy worked as a nurse for 44 years in a variety of settings in Lubbock. She married Larry Don Lilley June 15, 1963, in Lubbock.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her husband Larry; 3 sons, Russell Cash and wife, Nicole of Lubbock, Tx., Stephen Scott of Austin, Tx., and Donald Brett Lilley of Lubbock, Tx.; one brother, Bill and wife “Sue” of Gun Barrel City, Tx.; a mother-in-law “Mimi” Dorothy O. Lilley of Lubbock, Tx; 7 grandchildren (3 grandsons and 4 granddaughters); two sisters-in-law, Linda and Andy Mild of Garland, Tx and Judy and Dr. David Cox of Atlanta, Ga; several nieces and nephews, cousins, and numerous relatives and friends.
Peggy was a blessing to every life she touched. She will be missed very much. The family would like to extend our deepest thanks to SWCC, Dr. Mike Rice, Dr. Cobos and all staff who worked with them and Peggy as she fought a valiant battle with cancer.
