Patsy Loretha Dunlap, 84, born in Thorndale, TX April 20, 1939, passed away at her home with loved ones by her side, in Lubbock,TX on May 13, 2023. She was born to Edgar and Stella Vesta Roberts and graduated from Tahoka High School. She married Billy Jack Dunlap in Tahoka on July 12, 1956, and moved to Lubbock in 1971 to make their final home. She served at Redbud Baptist Church in various capacities for many years and had a passion for sewing and serving others in her community and her grandchildren.
Patsy is survived by daughter-in-law Jerri Beth Dunlap of Lubbock, son Jack and his wife DeAnn Dunlap of Lubbock and son Mark of Dallas. Her grandchildren are Justin McKibben (Karen), Brett Dunlap (Lauren), Becky Hendrickson (Jesse), Lacey Seaton (Jonathon), Tyler Dunlap, all of Lubbock, Krista Rodriquez (Frank) of North Carolina, and Sheridan Kay Dunlap of Dallas. Her great grandchildren are Mackenzie Carroll, Kayleigh Russom, Sadie Russom, Fallon Hendrickson, Elizabeth Seaton, Jameson Seaton, Jaxon Seaton, Jayden McKibben, Kacey McKibben, Bristol Dunlap, Asher Rodriquez, Gavin Rodriquez along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Patsy was preceded in death by Husband Billy Jack Dunlap, son Carl Wayne Dunlap, grandson Truitt Strickland Dunlap, brother Ronald Roberts, parents Edgar and Stella Vesta Roberts.
Faith, family and laughter were all very important parts of Patsy’s life. She was a proud Christian, as well as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who they lovingly called “Mawnie”. The holidays and the annual family vacations to the mountains were some of her most cherished moments.
Visitation will be at 11:30 am with services to follow at 1:00 pm Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Redbud Baptist Church in Lubbock. Burial ceremony will immediately follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Hospice of Lubbock and Centerwell Home Health of Lubbock.
