Olivia Flores

Olivia Ann Cantu-Flores, formerly of Tahoka went home to our Lord on Nov 6, 2015, at the age of 34 in Lubbock, Texas. Born Dec 5, 1980, Olivia was the youngest born child to George L Cantu Sr. and Armandina “Mandy” Rodriguez.

She was born and raised in Tahoka, Texas graduating Salutatorian from Tahoka High School in 1999. Olivia attended Upward Bound at Texas Tech University while in high school and then proceeded to attend Texas Tech University upon graduation. Olivia had a strong Faith and attended Christ the King Cathedral where she was actively involved in the youth program. She was an avid crotcheter and loved to bake from scratch. was her daughter Mikaela for whom she lived her life. On Oct 14, 2000 she married Marcelino Flores III and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado and then on to Abilene, Texas as he was in the United States Air Force. They returned to Lubbock in June of 2006.

Olivia is preceded in death by her mother Armandina and grandparents Matteo Vargas Rodriguez and Consuelo Lomas Rodriguez. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Marcelino Flores III; her daughter Mikaela Ashlyn Flores; father George L Cantu Sr.; grandfather Fidel S. Cantu of Littlefield; grandmother Francisca Z Cantu; brothers Jorge L. Cantu Jr. and wife, Rosemary Rodriguez, of Hereford; Gerold L.Cantu and wife, Veronica Ojeda, of Rankin/Lubbock; sisters, Donna Rodriguez and JoAnna Cantu, both of Lubbock; 16 nieces and nephews; 13 great nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends.
