Ofelia married the love of her life, Aurelio Sr., and together they built their home in Lubbock, Texas, where she devoted her life to her husband and four children. She was a dedicated housewife, a loving mother, and a caring individual who always welcomed other with open arms. Ofelia was a girl scout leader in the mid- 70’s and took pleasure in caring for her children, maintaining a well-organized household, and pursuing hobbies like macramé, crochet, and listening to music. Above all, she cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she never missed a day without saying a rosary for her family and friends.
Ofelia is survived by her Daughter; Maryjane (Rafa) Palos. Son; Adam Sr. (Louis) Martinez. Sister; Hellen Figuera, 12 Grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild on the way, along with 7 sister-in-laws, a brother-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Aurelio Sr., son Aurelio Jr. (June Bug), parents Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Flores, mother-in-law Minnie Gonzales, one brother, one sister and two sister-in-laws
A rosary service for Ofelia will be held Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A celebration of life mass will occur Monday, May 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 5740 19th St, Lubbock, Texas 79407. A burial service will occur Monday, May 20, 2024 at 11:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Park, 5740 19th St., Lubbock, Texas.
