Lubbock: Mary Lou Trelford, age 84, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012, of complications following a stroke. Mary Lou was born February 23, 1928 in Glennonville, Missouri to Alois and Magdalena Michel. She was very proud of her southeast Missouri roots.
The Trelford family moved to Lubbock in 1979 with her husband, John, employed as a Vice President Controller of the Furr’s Grocery Store chain.
Mary Lou has consistently been an active volunteer at Covenant Health System Auxiliary, the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce and the South Plains Food Bank. She was a faithful and long time member of Christ the King Cathedral. Mary Lou was an avid golfer and enjoyed many rounds of golf at LakeRidge Country Club and Meadowbrook Golf Course and was also active in their golf associations. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing bridge and Skip-Bo, traveling with her husband and sitting on her back porch watching her “many-feathered friends”.
She is survived by her husband of five years, Charles Seidenberger and four children and three stepchildren: Daughters Michelle Duerksen and her husband, Doug of Jonesboro, Karen Murray and her husband, Andy of Katy and her sons John Trelford and his girlfriend, Angela Overman of Dallas and Tim Trelford and his wife Shanna of Dallas; Stepdaughters Stella Book and her husband, Cecil of Miles, Paula Lange and her husband, Nick of Barnhart and Lori Osmanski and her husband, Paul of San Angelo. She is also survived by her sister Dolores and her husband, Roland Schaeffer of St. Louis, Missouri, eight grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband, John Trelford, her sister Bernice and her husband, Jule Dieckman, her son Tim’s first wife, Laura Trelford, and a grandchild, Amy Duerksen.
Visitation will be Friday from 6:00-7:30p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:30p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 10:00a.m. at Christ the King Cathedral with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ the King Cathedral, 4011 54th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79413.
