Mary Helen Jameson passed away on February 4, 2022 at the age of 93. Because of her faith in Jesus (Romans 10:9) she is reunited with her husband in Heaven. Mary Helen was born in Winterset, Iowa on January 31, 1929. She received a teaching degree from Iowa Wesleyan College and moved to Denver, Colorado to teach. She met Lex Jameson and married him in 1950. They were always active in church wherever they lived. They were avid supporters of music and the performance fine arts in the community and at First United Methodist Church in Lubbock. They were also members of the Lubbock Knife and Fork Club, Catch-All-Eight Square Dance Club, and the American Windmill Museum. Over their 70 years of marriage, they loved to travel. They have visited all 50 states and 38 foreign countries. Mary Helen was active as a “scout mom,” helping all three of her sons reach the rank of Eagle Scout. She loved her bell collection, which included over 500 bells from all over the world.
Mary Helen is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years: Lex; by her parents: Frank and Mary Carey; and by one sister and two brothers. She is survived by an older sister: Margaret Sanders, who is 103 years old. She is also survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law: Carl Jameson, Keith Jameson, and Gary Jameson (Suzie). She is also survived by 2 grandchildren: Shanna Daniels (Jason) and Matt Jameson (Amanda) and 7 great grandchildren.
A special thanks is extended to the Raider Ranch Isle Staff (Assisted Living and Memory Care) and to Traditions Hospice for assisting in the care of Mary Helen.
