Mary was born Mary Elizabeth Davis on Oct. 27th, 1936 to Eva Ree & Jim Carlton Davis in Alba, Texas. On November 16th,1949, she married J.D. Adams at the age of 13. They were married for 47 years. Mary pulled and hoed cotton from an early age, she was a waitress, and ended her 40 year career at Covenant Hospital as the Assistance Manager of Food Service. She loved her job and her coworkers. She also helped her husband, J.D., run two grocery stores and two restaurants during her career. She enjoyed bowling, keeping score at her son's baseball games in NW Little League, working in the yard and collecting rocks from different places in Texas and the US. She was an excellent artist and her children are blessed with those paintings. She loved family trips to Ruidoso during the years. She also loved traveling to Minnesota, special trips to Nashville, Texas Coast and Hill Country, and the Grand Canyon.
She was a devoted wife and mother. It seemed no matter how hard the road, she took it all one day at a time and took care of her family. She touched many lives in many ways. She loved unconditionally and was always there for her family no matter what. She had a saying, "You Gotta Do What You Gotta Do"...and that is the way she lived her life. She loved her Redbud Baptist Church and Sunday School "Joy" Class. She loved her Lord with all of her soul and this gave her the strength to go through all the trials and sacrifices of her life. She passed on so many values to her children and grandchildren. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her so much joy and happiness. She loved each and every visit with them. They were her inspiration to continue on the best she could. Mary is survived by her 3 children, Judy Adams Kielb (Bruce), John Dee Adams (Sharon), Jayna Ree Zara. Her Grandchildren are Jayson Adams (Dene'), Adam Kielb (Stephanie), Shauna Adams Owens (Erick), Joshua Zara, Justin Adams, Melanie Kielb, Mark Kielb, and Michelle Kielb; Great Grandchildren: Raylynn Adams, Jayce Adams, Payton Owens, Wyatt Owens, Ellie Anne Kielb, Rylee Owens, Owen Kielb, Christian Kielb, Colin Kielb, and Henry Kielb. She was preceded in death by her parents, her Sister "Ruthie", and 5 brothers-in-laws (Clifton, Kenneth, "Junebug", Herman,Wiley, and her very special Sister-in-law, Ruth ("Sister"). Mary was dearly loved by her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed, but we know we will see each other again. You fought the hard fight, now rest in your Savior's arms. We love you Sweet Mama of ours. Mary's service was held Sept. 10th at Redbud Baptist Church.
