Martha was born on June 22, 1929 in Snyder, Texas to the late P.C. and Mary (Jenkins) Mitchell. She attended Frenship schools, graduating in 1947. Following high school, Martha was joined in matrimony to Billy Joe Hutcheson on October 25, 1947, and they were wed for 55 wonderful years. Joe & Martha were blessed with 4 children, 3 sons and a daughter.
Martha served many teachers and students working at Frenship ISD and was also a homemaker, raising her children and grandchildren. Martha was a devoted Christian who attended First Baptist Church of Wolfforth. She led many bible studies, facilitated as a mentor in the Apples of Gold group, and was a faithful member of the Caregiver’s Sunday School Class in Wolfforth. Serving in her church was a huge passion of hers. Martha’s favorite past times were having coffee with her close friends, gardening, and most of all attending all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s many sporting and academic events, who lovingly referred to her as “Meme”.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her sons, David Hutcheson (Judi), Dennis Hutcheson (Sue), Doug Hutcheson (Kay), daughter Dawn Conoly (Tim), grandchildren Brian Hutcheson (Shana), Kasey Sakmar (John), Clint Hutcheson (Alise), Cliff Hutcheson (Candice), Brad Hutcheson (Kendra), Lindy Loftus (Michael), Sara Gray (Miles), Kara Munton (Kenny), and Lee Conoly (Catherine). She is also survived by 22 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, brother Bill Mitchell (Elaine), sister-in-law Sylvia Mitchell, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Martha is proceeded in death by her parents P.C. and Mary Mitchell, husband Billy Joe, sister Zelda Comer (Ray), brother James Mitchell, and grandson Andrew Luna.
The family would like to especially thank Lupe Carrasco and Jayme Tetens who helped serve as Martha’s caregivers during her final days, as well as, Interim Hospice of Lubbock.
