Markham Rea Power was born June 8, 1960, in Lubbock, Texas to Sue and Oscar Power. He passed away on November 30, 2023, in Brandon, Florida the age of 63. Mark graduated from Coronado High School and attended South Plains College. He then was the owner of Armor Asphalt for a number of years before moving to Ft. Worth, Texas to be in roadway construction and then to Florida in the same line of work.
Mark met and married Kari Robertson on May 24, 2003. He and Kari together love NASCAR races, college sports, especially if the Florida Gators or the Texas Tech Red Raiders were playing; he enjoyed watching and cheering for the professional Tampa Bay teams. He was a former Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) Certified Judge and judged many cook-offs. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mark was predeceased by his sisters Paula Lynn Power, and Patricia Ruth Power Mangold. He is survived by his wife, Kari Power, his parents, two sisters Debbie Barnes (Steve) of Lubbock, Texas and Connie Scarlino of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania; his children Britney Leigh Ware (Christopher) and Brandon Drew Power (Moxie), stepchildren Nick Robertson (Katie) and Meaghan Robertson (Brandon), five grandchildren, aunts, uncles and several nephews and nieces.
A celebration of life for Mark will be held Friday, December 29, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church of Lubbock, Texas with Rev. Paul Carpenter officiating.
