Marietta Sooter

She graduated from Brownfield High school in 1966 and moved to first Levelland and then Lubbock to attend both South Plains College and then Texas Tech to further her education.

She married Phil Sooter September 1st, 1972 in Lubbock and they were married for almost 50 years. From 1974 to 1984 she and her husband Phil owned and operated Varsity Cleaners on University Avenue. She worked most of her life as a bookkeeper and retired in the mid 2000's to manage her family's farms. Marietta enjoyed gardening, dancing and Elvis.

Marietta passed into the Lord's hands Saturday May 7, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Damon Miller. She is survived by her husband Phil, son Shawn Sooter, daughter Shockey Nail with husband Ronnie Nail, and daughter Brigette Taylor with husband David Taylor as well as five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Resthaven Chapel at 1pm Saturday, May 14th, 2022.
