Margaret Carolyn Stanley, 65, passed away September 1, 2014 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born July 30, 1949 in Fort Worth, Texas to Robert and Jo Ann (Narciso) Dickson. Margaret married James Stanley on December 9, 1978 at First Baptist Church in Matador. Margaret graduated from Denton High School in 1967. She attended college at UNT in Denton where she received her Teaching Degree. She later earned her Masters Degree. Margaret taught school at Motley County ISD in Matador and Ed Irons Middle School in Lubbock. She retired from education in Spring of 2009. She is survived by her husband James L. Stanley; 1 daughter, Jill Webb and husband Brandon of Andrews; 1 son Jason Stanley and wife Tamera of Andrews; her mother, Jo Ann Dickson of Lubbock; sister, Patsy Tippin of Andrews; grandchildren, Kadyn Kitchens, Koltyn Kitchens, Verrity Webb, Arianna Webb of Andrews, Landon Stanley, Max Stanley, Lynnzie Stanley of Andrews, Kenzie Rogers of Lubbock; nieces, Holly Conyers and Bryan of Andrews, Rebecca Perucca and Eric of Kyle, Shari Christenberry and husband Rocky of Mt. Vernon; nephews, Russell Tippin and wife Lisa of Andrews, Steve Stanley and wife Beth of Houston; and many very special great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Resthaven Funeral Home. A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held Friday, September 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abbey Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home with interment to follow in East Mound Cemetery in Matador, TX.
