Margaret “Margie” Nichols Rogers was born to Claude and Katherine Nichols in Ector, Texas, on November 23, 1941. Margie always said that she was loved from the moment she was born and there was no greater love than the love of Jesus! She grew up in a house full of love with her two brothers, Mike and Bill. As a child, she enjoyed playing the piano and singing in her church.. Margie was a graduate of Lefors High School class of 1959. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from West Texas State University and dedicated 27 years of her life to educating, loving, and shaping our future generations.. Margie loved music and continued to teach piano lessons well into her later years.
She met and married the love of her life, David William “Bill” Rogers on December 8th, 1962. Together they had two beautiful girls, Robin Katherine Rucker and Rhonda Claudette Tue, and four wonderful
grandchildren. Bill and Margie remained married until his passing in 1996.
Margie was a long time member of Southcrest Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She and her husband, Bill, also actively served for over 20 years at Bacon Heights Baptist Church where both her daughters were married and her father was Deacon Emeritus. She had a heart and passion for foreign and domestic missions and a love for serving others.
Margie went to be with Jesus, Sunday, March 6, 2022. She passed away peacefully at home at the age of 80. She had just spent the weekend surrounded by her family who adored her and always will. We find
comfort in knowing that she fell into the arms of her Lord and Savior as He whispered, “Well done good and faithful servant.”
Continued prayers for Margie’s family would be greatly appreciated.
