Funeral Mass for Manuel S. Rosa, 87, of Lubbock, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb 5, 2011, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday, at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Mr. Rosa passed away on Wednesday morning, Feb 2nd.
Manuel was born on May 10, 1923 in Mexico to Manuel and Petra Salinas Rosa. He married Rosa Castillo, Jan 25, 1945 in Laredo, TX. He worked as a farmer and a machine operator in road construction. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace and was a longtime Lubbock area resident.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Ester Aguirre, Julia Bocanegra, Silvia Canales, Elsa Rodriguez, Emma Duty; six sons, Manuel Jr., Johnny, Julian, Jesse, Adan, and Pablo; a half sister, Benita Garza; forty grandchildren, seventy great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
