Lois Pettit Wynn, 80, of Lubbock, was called to her heavenly home on February 9, 2010. She was born on January 22, 1930 in Quitaque, Texas to Clifford and Ruby Pettit. She married the love of her life, William Terry Wynn Jr. on December 5, 1946. Lois, along-side her husband was a life long South Plains farmer. Wynn and Wynn farming operations extended into five South Plains counties and exceeded 5,000 acres. She was a long time employee of Raff and Hall drugstore. Lois enjoyed cooking, gardening, and most importantly being a loving, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Above all else, Lois was a faithful and humble servant of her Lord, and loved spending time reading and studying His word. She was a longtime member of Broadview Baptist Church in Lubbock. Waiting for her in Heaven is her loving husband of 61 years, W.T.; her parents, brother, granddaughter, great granddaughter, and numerous family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory are sisters, Noma Lee Evans, Pat Littrell, Sue Humble; brothers, Pete Pettit and Roger Pettit; children, Terry Wynn, Charlotte Patterson, Charles Wynn, and Kim Bittle; grandchildren, Tammy Ledbetter, Jeff Wynn, Tracy Kilgore, Michael Bittle, Corey Newton, Angie Wolf, Brandon Wynn, and Rebecca Mishark; fourteen great grandchildren; caretakers Jean Cokendolphen, Shirley Walker, Eulovi ‘Bing” Garcia; farm manager and longtime friend Willie Bell and other family, friends, and neighbors. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to Hospice of Lubbock and Lubbock Meals on Wheels.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Home Instead Senior Care of Lubbock, Hospice of Lubbock, Dr. Robert Wey, and Dr. William Kearse for their generous support and care.
Celebration of life services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, February 12, 2010 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
