After a courageous battle with cancer, a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, Lauren Sydney Rangel-Valdez left this world to join her heavenly father at the age of 23 on September 1, 2021. Despite her illness, she was always a positive person who brought joy to others. She was born on November 19, 1997. She is the daughter of Reba Rodriguez & Clayton T. Jackson, along with Jesse Valdez.
She is survived by her parents; her fiancé, Zachary Roderick; her daughter, Lorac Roderick; her brothers, Landen Rangel and Luke Rangel; maternal grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Angel Rangel (her Popo and Yaya) and her paternal grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Julian Valdez; and numerous other family members and friends.
We would like to take this opportunity to graciously thank all who helped and assisted with her care, the UMC Health System, Dr. Catherine Jones and her nurse Melonie, Hospice of Lubbock, her hospice nurse Chloe Law, her hospice aide Yvette Casias, as well as a nurse she developed a bond with Heidi Lechuga. The family expresses an extreme amount of gratitude towards the Infection Controls, DBA Germblast, and its CEO, Rodney Madsen for his tremendous amount of compassion and generosity.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 6pm to 7pm at Resthaven Funeral Home, 5740 19th Street, Lubbock Texas, with a Rosary at 7pm. A funeral service will be held at 10am on September 11, 2021 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 102 N Ave P, with Father Reymundo Manriquez presiding.
