Kathryn was born on January 27, 1937, in El Paso, Texas to Katherine and Robert Williams. She was the youngest of three children, with the oldest being her brother, Bobbie, followed by her sister, Betty. In her early teens, she moved with her mother to California to be near her mother’s sister. For a few years, her mother owned a ladies dress boutique in Santa Monica while Kay attended high school and enjoyed modeling whenever possible.
After high school graduation, Kay and her mother moved back to El Paso where she attended Texas Western College, which is now known as UTEP. It was here, in El Paso, where she met and married her husband, Robert Reinhart. After Kay’s husband served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, the couple moved to Brigham City, Utah, where Bob worked for Morton-Thiokol. While living in Brigham City, Kay and Bob celebrated the births of their two sons, Michael and Joseph Reinhart.
In 1973, Kay settled in Lubbock, where she raised her family and enjoyed a career in the banking profession for over forty years. She was a beautiful lady inside and out with a pure heart of gold. Her family was her priority and she adored her sons beyond measure. She was a loving and compassionate mother, daughter, sister, and loyal friend. To know Kay was to love Kay and her trademark was her warm smile, her laughter, her sense of humor, and her gentle spirit. She also enjoyed her work, but more importantly, she loved the many wonderful people with whom she was fortunate enough to work with over the years. She considered herself blessed to call them family and their love and support meant the world to her. In addition to her many friends in Lubbock, Kay enjoyed lifelong friendships with people in other parts of the country.
Kay, also, had a deep spiritual side to her which was magnified in the way she loved and lived life. Her faith was evident in how she persevered and graciously handled her health issues. Her beliefs enabled her to face life’s many challenges; head on, faith forward.
Kay is survived by her sons, Joe Reinhart, and Mike Reinhart and wife, Jessica, who all reside in Lubbock. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Clyde Kelsey, Jr. and spouse, Jamie; nieces and their spouses, Becky and Kit Marcin; Nancy and David Eargle; great niece, Betsy Eargle; great nephew, Kelsey Eargle; great nephews and spouses, Jim and Margot Marcin; Patrick and Casey Marcin and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Katherine and Robert Williams, her sister, Betty Kelsey; her brother, Robert Williams; and her husband, Robert Reinhart.
