Jo Ann (Jodie) Schneider

The family of Jo Ann (Jodie) Schneider will celebrate her life of 92 years at 11:00 on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. The Memorial will take place at First Christian Church, where she was an elder emeritus; Reverend Paul Carpenter will officiate.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 15, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Jodie passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021. She was born March 10, 1929 to Mary Vesta and George Paul Kuykendall in Lubbock.

After graduating from Lubbock High, she attended Pepperdine College in California, where she met her husband of 67 years, John F. (Jack) Schneider.

Jodie was committed to her church and community. She served on several boards, including Milam’s Training Center, YWCA and Workshop for the Blind. Giving numerous volunteer hours to various organizations gave her so much pleasure.

True passions of Jodie’s were traveling, playing cards and Mah Jongg.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, George Kuykendall and Roger Kuykendall; and sister, Martha Jones.

She is survived by son, Kirk Schneider (Kathy); daughter, Nancy Carter (David); six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, South Plains Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, or the charity of your choice.

First Christian will have livestream available on First Christian’s Church Facebook, and recorded service may also be viewed on YouTube at a later date.
