Jimmie Rogers

Jimmie Rogers was born to Everett Rogers and Dahlia Stewart Rogers in Mineral Wells, Texas on Dec. 21, 1939. He was welcomed by two older brothers, Everett and Marsh Rogers, and an older sister, Evelyn. He married Dorieta Gwen Young in Levelland, Texas on July 10, 1957. He left to meet the Lord in Lubbock, Texas on July 23, 2017.

Jim is survived by his wife Dorieta Rogers, two daughters, Delana Grant of Snyder and Johnna Kinney of Lubbock, a brother, Everett Rogers of Levelland, 5 grandchildren, 3 nephews and 4 nieces.

Jim went to Levelland High School. He became a prominent builder in Levelland and later in Lubbock. He built homes in many towns across West Texas. He took a great deal of pride in his craftsmanship and his work was more of an art rather than a product. He mentored several young men who later became successful builders and cabinet makers.

Jimmie was a member of the Church of Christ and West Texas Builders Association. He had a strong faith and love for the Lord throughout his life.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, July 25th at Resthaven Funeral Home. Services will be Wednesday July 26th at 1:00 pm at Resthaven. Online condolences may be offered at www.resthavenfuneralhome.com.
