She was the daughter of Orval and Zelma Stine. Janice grew up in Riverside, California and in Lubbock Texas. Janice was raised with two siblings. She had one older sister, Teresa and a twin brother Dennis. Janice was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young girl, she was an active child who she took accordion lessons. She was a Daisy Scout. In her spare time she liked riding bikes, roller skating, swimming, and camping. She graduated from Frenship High School in 1985. She enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. Her favorite class in high school was Home Economics. The teacher she enjoyed learning from the most was Mr. Peak.
Always considered a “good” friend to those she knew, Janice enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. While growing up, she had a friend named Brenda. Later in life, she became friends with Carolina, Laura, and Anna.
On November 19, 2004 Janice exchanged wedding vows with Louis Martinez in a chapel in Las Vegas.
Janice worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Janice was blessed with two children, Brandon Stine and Daughter Jessica Renouf. Another blessing for Janice was the gift of thirteen grandchildren; Brittney, Joshua, Deja, Jayden, Josiah, Aiden, Noah, Joleesa, Nathaniel, Elijah, Donte, Jaiden, Alaina.
Fortunately, Janice enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Janice worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was a United SuperMarket Associate. She was employed for 12 years. Janice always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Janice was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following her favorite events whenever she had the chance to do so. Tops on her list were watching tennis and the Olympics. Though she never set out to gain individual recognition, Janice was given accolades for her many and varied accomplishments throughout her life. Some of her most prestigious awards included winning blue ribbons for making Dairy Queen cones at national competitions.
Janice enjoyed traveling and time away on vacation. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included camping with family and family reunions.
Janice was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. One of her favorites was Chico, a Poodle. They were best friends for nine years. Her family was rounded out by her dog Butkis, a Rottweiler.
Janice passed away on September 25, 2021 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. Janice fought a brave battle against cancer. She is survived by her husband, children, step-children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother, sister, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Simply stated, Janice was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Janice leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories.
