James "Mike" Nix

Mike Nix, beloved father, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 86. Born on October 20, 1938, in DeQueen, Arkansas, Mike lived a full and accomplished life, leaving a legacy of dedication and love.

Throughout his life, Mike built a distinguished career in Commercial Testing and Balance as the owner of Delta-T Inc. in Garland, Texas, a company he established in 1971. Under his leadership, the company thrived until his retirement in 2014. He was a proud member and former president of the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC), where he contributed significantly to the industry.

Mike is survived by his daughter Michele Elliott and her husband Matt of Lubbock, Texas; his daughter Charla Morris of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren Bailey and Macie Preston, Westin Elliott and Kal and Presley Morris. He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Ernest and Margie Nix, of Horatio, Arkansas, as well as his mother, Erkel Brown, of Alexandria, Louisiana.

In accordance with his wishes, his ashes will be scattered at the place he loved most dearly, his property at Lake Cypress Springs. A graveside service will follow, during which his ashes will be laid to rest at Horatio Cemetery in Horatio, Arkansas. Mike's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew and loved him.
