James and I have been best friends since 1960 when we met in home room in high school. We both worked for Furrs super markets but at different stores. Since then we have shared a lot of memories together, from working together at the same store to being room mates with his brother David. Of course we did crazy things together from having bread dough fights in Furrs parking lot to playing war games in a cleache pit using fire crackers and roman candles against his brother Mike and Johnny Duran. He also sold me my 1969 Chevy Camaro Z28 later on.  After we both married, he and Billie were my wife Ina and mine closest friends. When my daughter Shawna was about 1 1/2 years old, James taught her to pick up her plate and rub it all over the top of her head and smear whatever it was into her hair and just laugh so hard  while she did it. I have so many great memories of James and BIllie that will help ease the loss of these two wonderful people, but will never replace  the loss I feel. God Bless you both and I know you two are reunited now.

I will always remember Uncle James’ sense of humor. He could tell a joke or make a silly comment with a straight face and wait for you to catch on, then he’d smile and laugh with you, or at you depending on how long it took for you catch his joke.   He will be dearly missed and I’m praying that comfort and healing will be found in God’s love during this time of sorrow. 

James and Billie were very special friends of our family while we lived in Lubbock. We gathered together many weekend evenings for cards and so much fun! Their three children were great friends for our three boys, and we often swapped a kid or two for sleepovers after the card games. James’ teasing and sense of humor brightened our evenings! James was so good to Billie! We always looked forward to seeing them at Mass at St. John Neumann.  James and Billie will be missed. Love and hugs to the family!

I have know James since I was 17 years old. I was dating his brother Michael. We became good friends and he was always very sweet to me and loved pulling pranks on me and forever telling me jokes. Little did he know I would become his sister in law. We always had a special bond . I will miss his since of humor and that good fried chicken he always made. God has another Angel now. He is with His mom , dad, His brother David and Michael. We miss you all and love you so much
