James Carl Blackman of Lubbock passed away Tuesday March 10, 2020 at the age of 84. He was born April 7, 1935, in Graham, Texas. He received his GED in 1194. He worked for Furr’s (Farm Pack Kitchens) as a truck driver.
James married Melba Barnett August 31, 1957. He was of Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Melba of Lubbock, TX; one brother, Thomas Scruggs and wife Linda of Ropesville, TX; one sister, Barbara Shepard of El Reno, OK; three daughters: Abby Dale and husband Steve of Lubbock, TX, Katherine Stephenson and Husband Maurice also of Lubbock, TX and Pam Blackman of Wolfforth, TX; one son, James Blackman Jr. of Grapevine, TX; three grandchildren; one great grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2020 in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel.
Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
