Howard was born on July 2nd, 1953 to Roy and Anita Tracy in Alice, Texas. After graduating from Spartanburg High School in 1971, he moved to Lubbock, Texas and went on to study Art and Design at Texas Tech University.
He and his wife, Vicki, owned and operated Bernina Sewing Studio, later named The Sewing Studio for over thirty years. They recently sold the store together and retired. He spent the remainder of his days building model airplanes and spending time in nature; either bird watching or working in his garden.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Anita Tracy and his brother, David Tracy.
He is survived by his wife Vicki Tracy, his children; Josh Tracy and his wife Lauren Tracy and their son Austin; his daughter Kristen Hudgens and her husband Jeremy Hudgens and their three children, Kyler, Berklee, and Ellis; and his stepson, Casey Chance and his wife Jamie Chance and their three children, Bayla, Wilson, and Stella. Howard was also survived by his two sisters, Barbara Wheeler and Theresa Burton.
Services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home Abbey Chapel on March 7th, 2022 at 2:00pm. If you wish to donate in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Nikki Mitchell Foundation, for the research into a cure for pancreatic cancer.
