Services for Howard Dozier Hall, 75, of Lubbock, will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven.
Mr. Hall passed away on Saturday, January 21st.
Howard was born on July 31, 1936 in Georgiana, Alabama to Bill and Lena Mae Carpenter Hall. He grew up in Foley, Alabama. He graduated from Foley High School and briefly attended Auburn University before enlisting in the USAF.
While stationed at Reese AFB, he met and married Zoe Morris. Following his service they continued to make Lubbock their home and he worked in construction, and later became a Lubbock Police Officer. Following his service with LPD he began his career with the US Postal Service, with whom he retired.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Brooks and Allen “Bogey” Hall; and grandson, Dustin Proctor.
Survivors include two sons, William E. “Dub” Hall and Howard Keith Hall; a daughter, Glenda Diane Ferguson and husband Monte; five grandchildren, Ben, Lauren, Austin, Addison, and Garrett; three great grandchildren, Miles, Taryn and Abigal; a brother, Bill Hall and wife Ginger, and a sister, Edwina Bastion.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 6-8 pm.
