With great sadness, our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, Helen Boyajian Isaac on November 4, 2023. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 5-7 o’clock PM at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, Texas. The funeral service and burial will take place on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 10 o’clock AM also at Resthaven. Father Alexander Cordos from St. Catherine’s Orthodox Church in Lubbock will officiate.
Our mother was born on February 26, 1929 in Mercedes, Texas to George Boyajian and Mary Messara Boyajian. She was the youngest of three sisters and was lovingly referred to as “baby.” After her father’s unexpected passing, the family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas to be closer to immediate relatives. She graduated from Corpus Christi High School and attended Del Mar College. She actively assisted her mother and sisters in the family’s business and endeavors. On July 17, 1956, she married Edward Isaac. Shortly after, with their young family, they moved to Lubbock and opened a business on Broadway. Eventually, they arrived in the charming farming community of Bovina, Texas where they owned and operated a family department store and a ladies specialty boutique. In the 1980’s, the family returned to Lubbock where they owned and operated the Branding Iron Cowboy Outfitters. Unexpectedly, as our father’s health began to fail in 2000, she left the business to her son and daughter in law. From hence, she devoted all her energy to caring for her husband until his passing in 2016.
Without hesitation, she was a beautiful and gentle soul. Our parents were inseparable from the first day of their marriage. Her care for him during his later years was a testament to her remarkable and loving nature. She always possessed a radiant smile, a twinkle in her eyes and was incapable of speaking a negative thought about anyone. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Tina Isaac of Lubbock; George (Carolyn) Isaac of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; Edward Isaac II (Murvat) Musa of Lubbock.
She was predeceased by her sisters: Angelina (Sid) Moses of Lubbock and Nellie (Alfred) Gennaway of Corpus Christi.
Her beloved grandchildren include: Emily (Vincent) Cani of Orlando, Fl.; Erica (Alistair) Matthewson of Atlanta, Ga; Sara Musa of Chapel Hill, NC; Helaina Musa of Lubbock; Jake Musa of Austin, Tx. Her great grandchildren: Maria & Chiara Cani of Orlando, Fl. Her nieces from Corpus Christi, Tx, Barbara (Joe) Palfreyman and Janice Gennaway. Her immediate family includes Charles (Georgette) Isaac of Wolforth, Tx; Dolores (George) Abdelnour of Livonia, MI; Richard (Alice Jayne) Isaac of Spring, Tx; Lawrence Isaac of Palm Springs CA. Equally, a much loved bunch of nieces and nephews: Cindy (Bryan) Fitzgerald, Elizabeth Isaac, Christine (John) Bonatakis, Michael (Marcie) Isaac, John Isaac, Debbie (Kyle) Jones, Chris Isaac, Jack (Barbie) Mousa, Chayn Mousa, Rita Mousa, Elizabeth Mousa, Nancy (Rick) VerSoy, Vicki (Jim) Bailey & Clifford (Kenda) Igal.
A special word of thanks to her excellent caregivers, Brenda Smyrl and Haley Johnson.
