She grew up in Amarillo where she attended public school and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1945.
In Amarillo she worked at the First National Bank. She also had a business she loved called Party Planners in which she planned parties and helped with weddings. She loved flowers and was a gifted floral designer.
She moved to Lubbock in 1971 and was employed at the First National Bank in Lubbock. Her beloved husband, Hadley, who preceded her in death in 2009, was a law professor at Texas Tech University School of Law. She enjoyed the students and planned parties for them.
Helen belonged to the Women's Council of the Museum of Texas Tech, Lubbock Symphony Guild, The University Women's Club, The Lubbock Women's Club and The Horizon Study Club.
She and Hadley loved to travel and have fun with their friends and family.
She had two wonderful children, Janet Kay Biggs, who preceded her in death in 1981 and John Lee Biggs.
Survivors include her son, John Lee Biggs and his wife, Marta Calleja; granddaughter, Juliana Frances Biggs-Guidry and her husband, Cory Guidry; and grandson, Noah Eliot Biggs.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., with Reverend Elliott Powell of Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating. Livestream will be available on Resthaven's Facebook.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to: Lubbock Meals on Wheels, or the charity of choice.
