Harriet Louise Weiss Boone, 90, of Lubbock, Texas, went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 24, 2023. She was born April 4, 1933, to Paul (Bus) Weiss and Iola (Toots) Weiss in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She attended Colorado A& M University where she studied fashion design. She met the love of her life, Floyd Boone at a roller-skating rink, while he was stationed at Lowry AFB, Denver. They married June 15, 1952, and spent 68 years together in service to God and each other.
She retired from Texas Tech University where she worked in textile research. She and Floyd were active parishioners at Christ the King Cathedral as well as members of the Secular Order of the Franciscans. After retirement, they spent their free time at the Resale Center and were recognized as Volunteers of the Year by Catholic Charities of Lubbock.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children Greg Boone, (Faye), Audrey Boone Breeding (Gerald), Larry Boone (Mary), Tom Boone (Nadja), Jeanne Boone Ashley (Mark), and Melissa Boone Pool (Danny), 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd D. Boone, their son David Allen Boone and their daughter, Mary Katherine Boone Rider.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 30, 2023, at 6 pm followed by Rosary at 7 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home' Abbey Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection will be at Christ the King Cathedral, Monday, July 31, 2023, at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Foundation as well as Catholic Charities of Lubbock. There will be a gathering of family & friends immediately following at the home of Gery & Shari Straley.
