Gussie McDermett

Gussie was born in Graham, Texas on May 9, 1924 to Gus and Edna Chesnut.

Gussie was married to John E. McDermett on December 25, 1948 in Tucumcari, NM until his passing on July 9, 2009. They were longtime residents of Lubbock and owned Lubbock Paint Center for many years. They were longstanding members of Highland Baptist Church.

She is survived by three children, John McDermett of Midland, TX, Marilyn Clarkson (Steve) of Spring,TX and David McDermett (Annette) of Springtown, TX; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and sister, Merle Morrison of Lorenzo.
