Glenda Gennette Hataway, 79, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 1, 2024. She lost a long battle with various health issues but gained the victory of everlasting life with her heavenly Father.
Glenda was a beautiful, strong, loving and funny wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She had an infectious smile and memorable laugh that we will cherish forever.
Glenda was born in Coolidge, Texas on April 5, 1944, to Ruby Gennette and Buddy Glen Adamson.
Glenda graduated from Irving High School in 1962. She married Jonathan Hataway on May 3, 1963. She was a proud Air Force wife. She loved her country.
She worked as a medical laboratory technologist for 30+ years. She loved her job and the people she worked with, forming lifelong friendships.
Glenda treasured her time with her children and grandchildren, always spoiling them. She took pride in her name “Mimi”. She always had ice cream waiting for them.
She enjoyed gardening, going on walks, and playing games. She never met a stranger.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Myron and James Adamson. She is survived by her husband Jonathan Hataway, daughters Angie Martin (husband Mike) and Brandi Williams. Her grandchildren Allison (Partner Brian), Alexis (Partner Linda), Tim, and Aiden and great grandchildren Avery and Keely. Her sister Frances Storms, sister-in-law Glynda Isham and many loved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday February 7th at Resthaven Funeral Home from 10:00am - 11:00am with services immediately following at 11 am.
