Services for Gary D Satterfield, 67, of Lubbock will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Green Lawn Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Resthaven. Mr. Satterfield passed away on Friday, October 7, 2011.
Gary was born on October 19, 1943 in Meridian, Mississippi to Willie D and Margaret Williams Saterfield. He married his lifelong sweetheart Barbara J. Ewing on February 9, 1962.
Mr. Satterfield retired as a Capt. from the Lubbock Police Department in 1985. After his retirement he operated Satterfield Auto and Mower until his death.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Mitch Satterfield and wife Jorita; two daughters; Sheila White and husband Brad, Dana Walton and husband Wayne, all of Lubbock; sister, Ann McElhenney of Vicksburg, MS; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Charles.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 6-8 PM. Memorials are suggested to your favorite charity.
