Freda Cooper

She was born in Morton, Texas, on Oct. 1, 1937, to Mary and Henry Chesshir and grew up on the family farm.

She married Bobby Dale Cooper on Jan. 22, 1956, and they had a wonderful life together for 55 years.

She was an excellent seamstress and made many of her daughters' clothes as they were growing up.

She leaves behind two daughters, Vicki Pope and husband Mike Pope of Hobbs, N.M., and Jan Ivy and husband Kelly Ivy of Denver City, Texas; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She leaves also behind two sisters, Lavern Cox of Lubbock and Glenda Taylor of Andrews, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant brother, Jesse Ray; her infant grandson, Steven Charles and one sister, Wanda Wallace.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2011, in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel in Lubbock, Texas, followed by burial in the Resthaven Memorial Park.

She was a wonderful wife and mother and will be very missed by everyone who knew her!
