Celebration of Life services for Elois Sumrow Badley, 96, of Lubbock will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with Dr. Lisa Barber officiating. She passed from this life Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Lubbock.
Elois was born January 28, 1921 to Lera Mae (Watson) and Wade Sumrow in Collin County, Texas. She graduated from O’Donnell High School, O’Donnell, TX. After graduation she moved to Lubbock and lived across the street from the Cactus Theater and that is where she met the love of her life, J.D. Badley who was employed as the projectionist for the theater. They married in 1940 and had 49 good years together filled with love, hard work, trout fishing and family fun. Elois was a member of South Park Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and a sister.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her daughters; Carolyn Sanderson and husband, Bob of Lubbock and Judy Ann Miller and husband Romond of Wolfforth; six grandchildren Lisa Ann Barber and husband, Doug of Lubbock, Brandon Gard Sanderson of Lubbock, Reagan Wayne Proctor of Lubbock, Jennifer Ann Garza and husband, David of San Marcos, TX, Justin Miller of Lubbock and Brian Miller and wife Leslee of Laveta, CO; a sister, Clara Jean McDaniel of Lubbock and nine great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
