Eddie married Sondra Kay Spence on May 26, 1956. They raised three sons: Eddie, Ronnie, and Donnie. Eddie was a paint contractor and Sondra helped Eddie and their sons Eddie and Donnie in the family business, Eddie Simpson Painting.
Eddie enjoyed square dancing, hunting and fishing. He was a devout Christian and member of Quaker Avenue Church of Christ.
After retirement he and Sondra moved to Lake Stamford where they were able to pursue their love of fishing and all things outdoors.
Eddie was preceded in death by his wife Sondra; parents, Ed and Authula Simpson; brother, Doug Simpson; and son, Eddie Simpson.
He is survived by Angie Simpson (wife of late Eddie Simpson), Ronnie (Vicki) Simpson, Deborah Lou Simpson, Donnie Simpson, 14 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family extends their deep gratitude and appreciation to Bender Terrace and Gentiva Hospice for their love and care to Eddie.
You are invited to join the family as they honor and celebrate Eddie's life with a visitation beginning on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 in Resthaven Funeral Home Abbey Chapel at 1pm. Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2pm along with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. A time of remembrance will follow at Quaker Avenue Church of Christ at 4:00pm.
