He graduated from Frenship High School in the 1957 graduating class and went on to attend Texas Tech University.
Dwain met the love of his life, Mary Lue Gladden and married her August 14, 1959 in Hurlwood, Texas. They remained married until his passing. Together they had two sons, Ken and Curtis.
Dwain founded Baker Electric in June of 1974, where he worked as an electrical contractor until his retirement in 2007. He was a longstanding member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the National Electric Contractors Association. After retirement from the family business, Dwain loved to travel and take trips in the motor home with Mary Lue. He liked hunting, horses, all animals but most of all he loved to fish.
Dwain was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Baker.
He is survived by his wife Mary Lue; sons, Curtis Baker and wife Marcy, Ken Baker and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Dustin Baker and partner Kelby, Kendra Bernstein and husband Greg, Lane Baker; great-grandchildren, Ellis Bernstein, Campbell Bernstein, and Colter Baker; sister, JoNell Montgomery; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home Sunday January 23, from 3 pm to 5 pm. A funeral service will be held in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel Monday January 24 at 2pm with a committal to follow
in the Resthaven Memorial Park.
