She married William Cary Roberts “Buddy” on April 1, 1948. They lived in Amarillo until 1979, when Buddy’s work took him to Lubbock, where he was the manager of Plains Linen Supply; Buddy passed away in December of 2001.
Dortha was a devoted member of Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock until her move to Bedford, Texas, to be near her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, older sisters Lola Sargent & Eula “Snookie” Stephens (Leonard), and older brother Alfred W. Windham, Jr.
She is survived by her children: Karen L. Reynolds (David) and Wayne Roberts (Cindy), both of North Richland Hills, Texas; Four wonderful grandchildren: Jeffery Park (Katy), Matthew Roberts (Danielle), Amanda Gipson (Jonny), and Justin Reynolds; Seven great-grandchildren: Jacob Leach, Cale Gipson, Oliver Gipson, Kellan Park, Zachary Roberts, Jordan Taylor, and Christine Wilson.
Visitation for Dortha will be on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home, 5740 W. 19th Street in Lubbock. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Southcrest Baptist Church at 10:00 am, 3801 S. Loop 289 in Lubbock, with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Serving as Pallbearers: Justin Reynolds, Jeffrey Park, Matthew Roberts, Jonny Gipson, Keith Kitten and Jeffrey Tumlinson. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers: Jacob Leach, Cale Gipson, Don Tumlinson, Donald Kitten, Joe Bryant, Jerry Rac,e Lance Rawls, and Kyle Rawls.
