Dorothy J. Price

Our hearts are heavy today with the passing of Dorothy Price, “The Insurance Lady,” who was loved and respected by so many friends, family, and clients. With her family at her bedside, Dorothy went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2025, following complications from a stroke. She was 77 years old.

Dorothy June Kendrick Price, was born on August 14, 1947 in Lamesa, Texas to Robert and Betty Kendrick. She grew up in Spur, Texas and later moved to Lubbock after she married. Dorothy met the love of her life, Danny Price, in 1976. They married that same year, and Danny adopted Dorothy’s 2 daughters Kassie and Keri, and Dorothy adopted Danny’s son Jon, and the 5 became the Price family.

Dorothy launched her own independent insurance agency in 1979 where she diligently served her clients with their health, life, disability, cancer, and Medicare insurance needs. After 48 years of devoted service, Dorothy finally found the right person to buy her business, and she officially retired earlier this month.

Dorothy was known for her love of playing games, especially dominoes and cards. She enjoyed traveling to new places and loved Hawaii where she and her husband Danny vacationed many times over the years. She also never met a stranger and made friends with everyone she met.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Danny, her daughters Kassie Young of Bentonville, Arkansas and Keri Grant and her husband Stuart of Colleyville, Texas; 5 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her son Jon Price of Lubbock, Texas.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the lovely staff of Interim Hospice and Angel’s Arms Assisted Living of Lubbock for their empathetic and compassionate care of Dorothy over the past few months.

A celebration of life service for Dorothy will be held at 10:00 AM on April 1, 2025, at Kingdom Life Fellowship, 4202 I-27 Frontage Road, Lubbock, Texas. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on March 31, 2025 at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 5740 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas.
