Dorisgean Rankin Williams, 95, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away, November 20, 2021. She was born in Eulogy, Texas, on September 2, 1926. After attending the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin, Dorisgean graduated from Austin High School. She is preceded in death by husbands: Tom Rankin, Jr., James Gray, and Lloyd Williams, and a son, Tom Volney Rankin III. Her early years were spent as a farmer’s wife and homemaker with Tom Rankin, Jr. in Lockney, Texas. After his death in 1964, Dorisgean lived in Arlington, TX, and in Concan, TX, where she and her second husband, James Gray, built a home on the Frio River. With Lloyd Williams, Dorisgean enjoyed traveling around the world and making new friends.
Dorisgean had many passions. She loved to bake and her well-loved cookbooks are filled with her handwritten changes to recipes and notes of who especially loved what dish. She was a life-long lover of nature and animals, especially her dog, Pepper. Dorisgean was a crafter and artist whose works won several blue ribbons at the Lubbock County Fair in her later years. She was a member of the Southern Hills Church of Christ in San Marcos.
Dorisgean is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Greg Couch: their children, Jennifer (Daryl) Hazen of Aubrey, Texas; David (Kaylee) Turbeville of San Marcos; Scott (Ashley) Turbeville of Golden, Colorado; Carleigh (Shaun) Cody of Shallowater; Charley (Shelby) Smith of Amarillo; Lance (Kelly) Couch of Greenville; Christi (Kevin) McCasland of Olton, and Kevin Couch of Seminole. In addition, she is survived by her son, Tedd and his wife, Brenda Rankin; and their daughter Julia Rankin of Frisco. Dorisgean is survived by 27 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Monday, November 29, 2021 at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel.
A visitation will be held from 1-3 pm, Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel.
