Ralls, Texas-

Don Hamilton, 83, passed away May 5th, 2022, in Ralls, Texas, with his wife by his side. He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas to Ed and Louise Hamilton.

Don married Margo (Nancy) Carpenter on Valentine’s Day in 1990. The couple lived in Lubbock and moved to Ralls 14 years ago. Don & Margo were volunteers for the Ralls Historical Museum and Loaves & Fishes Meals on Wheels and served on the board of “Citizens Code Compliance”.

Don served on the City Council, and as Mayor Pro Tem. He then served as Mayor of Ralls until his death.

Don was a Christian who loved his church family and was a member of Quaker Ave Church of God for 36 years.

Don was a 1955 Graduate of Arlington High School … his career included several endeavors, but he has always been an auctioneer. Don was the Founder and co-owner of Lone Star Auto Auction. During his career Don worked in several cities in Texas 5 days a week as an auctioneer, not counting the many charity events he volunteered for.

Don is survived by his wife, Margo: one sister Kay and her husband Buch Pair, and one sister-in-law Coleen Hamilton. His one son, Brad Carpenter and his wife Patti Montoya. His one daughter Margo and her husband Winfield White. Three grandchildren: Morgan White and Chance White, Cavis Carpenter and wife Bree. Plus 2 great-grandchildren and his beloved nieces and nephews and his great nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Hamilton.

Col Don was loved by many and valued his friends that contributed to his career and life.

Don’s Celebration of life will be May 14th at 11a.m. at the Quaker Ave Church of God, 4320 53rd St.
