Visitation will be held at Resthaven of Lubbock from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, January 31. Funeral services will be held at Wolfforth United Methodist Church at 2 pm on Thursday, February 1.
Donald was born October 18, 1937 in Welch, Texas to K.C. and Cliffa Jean Preston. He graduated from Frenship High School in 1955 where he starred in football. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Sylvia Dalton for 62 years. He and Sylvia owned and operated Preston Meat Packers for over 25 years. During his 32 years of service to the City of Wolfforth, he served as City Councilman, Mayor and Municipal Judge. He was instrumental in opening the City of Wolfforth Library in 1987.
Donald lived for his family and loved serving others. Besides spending time with his family, he loved visiting his ranch in central Texas and tending to his cattle.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Sylvia, three sons, Danny and wife Amy of Tahoka, TX, Leslie of Brownfield, and Curtis and wife Karie of Muleshoe, TX, nine grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Gaye Preston Johnson.
